Britney Spears Inspires Another 'Glee'-Cap Musical

Heather Morris' moves and John Stamos' grin have us breaking into song.
By Jim Cantiello

From the Heather Morris-starring scene-for-scene video re-creations to the sight of Lea Michele as a sexy schoolgirl to the debut of John Stamos, this week's Britney Spears-themed episode of "Glee" has everyone talking. But it has us singing. Without further ado, here are the lyrics to this week's "Glee"-cap!

Britney
You took over this week's "Glee."
Oh, baby you can hit me
One or two more times.

But when you act,
It's all sorts of crazy wack,
It's so good to have you back,
Even though you look 39.

A full hour of hits that are yours,
But then Lea performed Paramore.
[Jim speaks: What the f--- was that about?]
Oh, Britney, take these kids on tour.

[Jim speaks: Seriously, Heather Morris did Britney better than Britney ever did Britney.
Clip: Santana says, "Leave Britney alone!"
Jim: Sorry!
]

[To the tune of "... Baby One More Time"]
Oh, Stamos, Stamos,
How was I supposed to know
That you and "Glee" are besties?
Oh, Stamos, Stamos,
You're not singing "Kokomo."
No love for Uncle Jesse.

Mating with crazy eyes,
They're dating,
Schuester's fading,
Student's masturbating,
Oh, that's gross!

John Stamos has a dentist chair.
He gives "Glee" kids
So much sweet air.
When they go under,
They lose their mind.
Drugs are sublime!
Then it becomes Britney time!

[To the tune of "Everytime"]
Videos redone
Are so much fun,
But baby

Everytime "Glee" tributes
The plot falls by the wayside.
They just want you to buy
lots more soundtracks, baby.

"Glee" is structured like a porn.
They talk and then perform.
Scenes are shoehorned
Who needs story, baby?!

[Jim takes a hit of nitrous oxide, collapses.]

Guillermo Del Toro Says James Cameron Will Be 'Tough Ally' On 'Mountains'

'He's going to grill me every step of the way,' director tells MTV News about horror film Cameron is producing.
By Eric Ditzian

Guillermo del Toro
Photo: MTV News

Guillermo del Toro has been dreaming about "At the Mountains of Madness" for well over 30 years. He read the H.P. Lovecraft story as a child and wanted to shoot a Super 8-assisted adaptation. Eighteen years ago he pitched his friend James Cameron on the idea of making "Mountains" into a feature. He tried to sell studios on the project too.

But nothing happened — until this July, when news broke that del Toro and Cameron were teaming up to adapt the horror story for the screen. Del Toro signed on to direct the 3-D feature, Cameron came aboard as a producer, and now the duo are deep into preproduction with an eye toward shooting next year.

After years of informally evaluating each other's work, they're now formal creative partners. To hear del Toro tell it, the duo will likely both concur and clash as they push forward on the production. Yet whether they're facing off or giving each other a hearty thumbs-up, both strong-willed men are sure of one thing: It's del Toro's movie.

MTV: The idea of collaboration between you and James Cameron is something that gets a lot of people excited — two seriously impressive movie nerds. Have the two of you been geeking out together on movies, space, aliens, 3-D, that sort of stuff?

Guillermo Del Toro: Jim has been one of my closest friends for the last 20 years, but we haven't collaborated. He always gets a thank-you on my movies and we always visit each other's editing room and design room. I've had the blessing of reading the screenplays before he shoots them. He was the first person who saw a first cut of "Cronos," and he gave me a line that is in the movie: "No, not my nose again!" He came up with that over lunch.

MTV: Why was this the project on which to formally collaborate?

Del Toro: "Mountains of Madness" requires everything we have technologically, pushing 3-D in horror in a way that is not just things coming at you, but to use it creatively in function of the genre, without the gimmicks. The first movie I pitched to him in 1992 was "Mountains of Madness." We got together and he'd seen the design we had generated in a couple weeks. He was blown away by the stuff we were doing. We have a small crew of designers. Five guys. And he came in and said, "You mean five guys in two weeks have done all this?" He has been very helpful with having notes on the screenplay, but the best part of working with Jim is he knows me, I know him and we had a very easy time having "the talk." I said, "Push comes to shove, it's my movie." And he said, "It's your movie, absolutely, no problem, I'm here to support you." He's going to be like he's always been: a tough ally. It's not like he's going to let me get away with everything. He's going to grill me every step of the way.

MTV: It seems like there are few people in this business who could go toe to toe with Cameron like that.

Del Toro: He's a guy I completely admire. This is a guy who, in every sense of the word, is formidable. This guy has literally gone to the depths of the ocean. He has pushed the medium. He's not the most successful filmmaker in history. He's the first and second most successful moviemaker in history.

MTV: Are you nervous at all to finally shoot with 3-D cameras?

Del Toro: My first lesson on 3-D came from the hand of Jim Cameron. I'm there with Jim all morning going through the PACE [camera] system of 3-D and I cannot think of a better teacher, so I was absorbing everything, discussing ideas with him. I'm all about depth. I was saying what attracts me about 3-D is not what comes out of the screen [but] the depth that you gain on the screen, how you are sucked into it rather than attacked by things. Jim had an absolutely Zen, Taoist moment and he said one of the best things I've ever heard about 3-D. He said, "What screen? There is no screen." I go, "Whoa, master." That's the key if you want to use 3-D properly. You truly create a new reality. That moment with Jim was my clarity on the mountain.

Justin Bieber Snapped Kissing 'Baby' Video Co-Star

Photos of Bieber locking lips with tourmate Jasmine Villegas in backseat of a car pop up online.
By Jocelyn Vena

Justin Bieber may have recently insisted he's too busy for girls, but he seems to have found time in his schedule for one lucky girl. The pop star was reportedly snapped kissing his "Baby" video co-star and current My World Tour opening act, Jasmine Villegas.

While the pair have been romantically linked for some time now, both have denied a romance. Photos of the pair caught in a lip lock were posted on TMZ on Tuesday (September 21), and it may be the evidence Bieber's fans needed to confirm the two are more than just friends. According to TMZ, the photo was snapped on September 9 in Venice, California, around the same time Bieber landed in Los Angeles for his VMA appearance.

Although the photos of the pair in the backseat of a Honda were taken weeks ago, they only recently surfaced online. According to TMZ, they were taken by a Canadian tourist who spotted the singers. A rep for Bieber could not be reached for comment.

Villegas, 16, is currently on the road with Bieber, but fans may also recognize her from her guest turn as his love interest in the bowling-themed video for "Baby." Recently signed to Sony, Villegas was once a member of the girl group School Gyrls. She also has cameos in Bieber and Sean Kingston's "Eenie Meenie" video and Kanye West's for "Jesus Walks." The teen singer also has two solo videos of her own: one for "I Own This" and the other for "Serious."

When asked about his relationship status this month, Bieber told MTV News, "I mean, girlfriends are trouble at this age. Girls are fun to hang out with but, like, having that one steady girl ... we're constantly traveling and one girl's not gonna really [work]. You can't really have one girl. I don't really have any crushes at the moment. ... Right now, the best thing is [that we're] just teenagers having fun doing what we love. We're just staying ourselves and remaining humble."

Do you think and Justin and Jasmine would make a good couple? Let us know in the comments!

'Wall Street' Brings In Box-Office Bucks

'Money Never Sleeps' takes $7 million in theaters on Friday.

The Box-Office Top Five

#1 "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps" ($7 million)
#2 "The Town" ($5 million)
#3 "Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole" ($4.6 million)
#4 "Easy A" ($3.6 million)
#5 "You Again" ($2.8 million)

Proving money still talks — at least, to moviegoers — "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps" took the top spot at the Friday box office. Michael Douglas' return as Gordon Gekko, 23 years after he powered the cautionary money, power and success tale of the original "Wall Street," rang up $7 million in ticket sales.

Another cash-grabbing flick, "The Town," also scored big with audiences, landing in the second-place slot. The film, which follows vault looters (Ben Affleck), ladies (Blake Lively and Rebecca Hall) and the law (Jon Hamm) as they get caught up in the nefarious Boston bank-robbing underworld, made $5 million. The haul brings the movie's total estimated tally to just over $38 million since its debut last Friday.

The Friday top five wasn't all about money grubbing and shady ethics. The animated feature "Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole" debuted in third place. Adapted from the children's book series by author Kathryn Lasky, and boasting voice-over performances from Helen Mirren and Geoffrey Rush, the kid-friendly fantasy flick raked in an estimated $4.6 million.

The high-school comedy "Easy A" continued to turn in good marks at the box office. Featuring a cast of young Hollywood names, including Emma Stone, Penn Badgley and Amanda Bynes, the flick pulled in $3.6 million during its second Friday on screens.

Rounding out the top five with a tale of post-high school awkwardness is "You Again." Audiences plunked down $2.8 million to catch Kristen Bell's turn as a successful PR professional grappling with the fact that her brother's fiancé is her onetime schoolyard nemesis.

Check out everything we've got on "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps," "The Town" and "Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole."

Chris Brown Teams With Drake, Kanye West, T.I. For 'Deuces' Remix

Brown promises Fabolous and Andre 3000 will also have guest spots on the remix.
By James Dinh

Following disappointing sales of last year's Graffiti, which came on the heels of his guilty plea for assaulting Rihanna, Chris Brown is churning out new music in an attempted comeback. Not only has his mixtape-spawned cut "Deuces," featuring Tyga, topped the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop chart, but the track has also been remixed to include guest spots from five hip-hop heavyweights, including Drake and Kanye West.

During a chat with fans on Ustream on Monday night, Brown spoke about the upcoming remix and his next album, F.A.M.E.

"I'mma let ya'll know a little secret," Brown told fans. "We got the 'Deuces' remix coming. 'Deuces' remix features myself, Fabolous, T.I., Drake, Kanye West, and André 3000. There you have it. My people are probably about to call me and say, 'You weren't suppose to tell anybody,' but so what? I love you guys."

The singer revealed that the remix to the kiss-off track is set to be released as soon as he receives a verse from West. "I'm actually supposed to be getting Kanye's verse any minute now," he explained. "I got everybody else's very ready, so we're waiting right now. We're gonna put it together and have it to y'all either by next week or this week, probably Friday. I ain't making no promises."

In addition to treating Team Breezy to the big-time collaboration, Brown said that he will shoot a video for the remix.

Brown has been steadily releasing plenty of new music, including his pop single "Yeah 3x," which Brown said he wrote in 15 minutes with Kevin McCall, Richgirl's SeVen and DJ Frank E. "We actually got the beat and we did it in no time." he said. "It was effortless. It was fun. It was sort of like when we wrote 'Forever,' so I hope you guys like that record. It's more of a pop record, in the club record."

The singer gave fans a taste of his other much talked about song "Calypso," which may appear on the new LP.

"I wouldn't say it's my comeback album," he said of F.A.M.E. "I just say it's my album. I wouldn't say it's a comeback because I don't feel like I went anywhere. I didn't disappear. I still was in your face. But I feel like it's a great album. It's going to show a lot more growth and a lot more fun in music. It isn't going to be as depressing, so to speak." He's also considering putting the remix to "Deuces" on the album as a bonus for fans.

Ke$ha Talks VMA Garbage Bag Ensemble, Lady Gaga's Meat Suit

'It was amazing. I got to wear a garbage bag on national TV,' singer says.
By Kyle Anderson, with reporting by Kara Warner

Even if they didn't walk away with Moonmen, just about everybody who attended the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards exited the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles a winner. Taylor Swift started some buzz with new music, and Paramore's Hayley Williams finally got to do a live tag-team with B.o.B. Another winner in spirit? Ke$ha, whose first visit to the VMAs was a positive one.

"It was amazing. I got to wear a garbage bag on national TV," Ke$ha gushed on the red carpet at the premiere of the second season for the HBO show "Eastbound and Down." "It was fun. It was good. And I got nominated for four, and it was a dream come true just to be there."

The 23-year-old singer, who did indeed wear a dress made from garbage bags, was impressed with the level of fashion experimentation at this year's show. "It was fun. I think everybody was having fun with it," she said. However, she is not entirely sure she would be able to take the steps that Lady Gaga did with her head-turning meat-based ensemble. "I don't know if I could actually put raw meat on me," she admitted.

With the VMAs behind her, Ke$ha is working on a new album, but was mostly excited to get out and support her favorite show on television. "I don't watch TV, but this show I connect with on a really deep level," she said. "I kind of feel like I'm the female version of Danny McBride: Kind of white trash, just ready to party."

The Moonmen have all been handed out and the stars have gone home, but there's plenty of 2010 MTV Video Music Awards news, interviews, behind-the-scenes scoop, party reports and more still to come, so keep it locked on MTVNews.com.

Rick Ross Says 'Monster' Proves Nicki Minaj Is 'One Of The Greatest'

'It was a moment in history,' he tells Mixtape Daily of watching Ms. Minaj at work.

Celebrity Favorites: Rick Ross

In Rick Ross' mind, Nicki Minaj graduated when she worked with the man behind the album Graduation.

The Bawse said he was amazed not only seeing Nicki compose her raps, but also get on the mic and tear the booth down for the Kanye West posse cut.

"It was a moment in history," he said. "I knew then she's one of the greatest.

"I was actually in the studio with Kanye in Hawaii when he played the concept for me," Ross recalled. "I was blown away. I had the opportunity to sit in the studio while Nicki wrote her verse just off the record. That was when she earned my respect as a lyricist. She was a dope entertainer up until that day that I sat in the studio and watched her come up with what I feel is one of the dopest verses of the year."

If you're getting your late pass right now, "Monster" was released a few weeks back as part of Kanye's G.O.O.D. Friday offering of free music to the people. The track also features Jay-Z, Bon Iver, Charlie Wilson and Ross himself.

"OK, first things first, I'll eat your brains/ Then I'mma start rocking gold teeth and fangs," Nicki raps on the song/ " 'Cause that's what a mutha----ing monster do/ Hairdresser from Milan, that's the monster 'do/ Monster Giuseppe heel, that's the monster shoe/ Young Money is the roster and the monster crew."

"To see her construct her verse and lay it — she did it herself — I commend her," Ross added.

Ross' time on the track was limited, but Ricky Rozay said he wasn't slated to be on the song in the first place.

"I wasn't originally supposed to be on the record. I was next door working on another Kanye collaboration," the Miami native said. "I walked in, like, 'This is so big.' [Kanye] was like, 'Yeah.' He was playing the track, spitting his verse for me. That's before he even laid it. I'm like, 'That's dangerous.' At the same time, me being a hustler, I'm thinking of just an intro for the record. He told me the structure and the way he wanted it to go. I told him that was it. That's the way I would do it. He was on point with it. Me being the artist I am, I was sitting there talking to him and came up with an intro bridge. It wasn't a verse at all. It was just an intro or somewhat of a bridge to set the tone for 'Ye to come in. Jay capped it off."

Justin Bieber Sings For Fans At Hooters In Canada

Justin Bieber is living the life. The 16-year-old superstar was spotted and photographed with a bevy of Hooters waitresses after he stopped by the restaurant's local outpost at the West Edmonton Mall in Canada on Saturday, the Edmonton Sun reports. He was in town for a stop on his My World tour.

Not only did Bieber and his entourage, including four of his backup dancers, stop by for a quick visit, he also serenaded everyone at the restaurant. One of the servers at the restaurant, Tania Biggar, explained, "We were talking about deep-fried pickles. Then they said they would sing to me for free deep-fried pickles. The manager said if they sang for the whole restaurant, he'd pay for their entire meal. They serenaded the girls. They were actually super-polite. They were just awesome people to serve. They weren't demanding or anything like that."

The impromptu performance had fans in a frenzy. "Everybody that was sitting around them went over to talk to them. They told them they did an awesome job of singing," she said.

Biggar further explained that while the Hooters girls did get a photo with Bieber, they didn't get much one-on-one time with him. "None of the [servers] really got to talk to him. He was surrounded by his fans," she said. "That's how we knew he was coming in — it was all 14-year-old girls. And they all kind of move as one."

YouTube footage of the Hooters visit shows Bieber, dressed in a black jacket and black hat, walking through crowds of people. Despite all the fans trying to catch a glimpse of the star, it seems things remained relatively more low-key than past Bieber mall appearances.

The restaurant's manager, Sonny Verma, confirmed the blink-and-you'll-miss-him appearance of the "U Smile" singer to the Edmonton Journal. "We probably had a row six people deep and 10 people long at the window. It was pretty cool," he said. "I was told about 10, 15 minutes he came in here. It was really quick. He came in, took a quick picture and took off."

Shia LaBeouf Raves About 'Wall Street' Director Oliver Stone

'In the '80s and '90s, he was the most dangerous filmmaker alive,' LaBeouf tells MTV News.
By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz

Shia LaBeouf
Photo: MTV News

Shia LaBeouf has had a pretty slick Hollywood run over the past few years. From "Transformers" to "Indiana Jones" and now "Wall Street," he's tackled roles in iconic American franchises and worked with some of the industry's most desirable directors.

Speaking of which, "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps" teams LaBeouf with Oscar winner Oliver Stone. When we caught up with the young star recently, we asked him if he was a die-hard fan of Stone's original "Wall Street."

"In the '80s and '90s, [Oliver Stone] was the most dangerous filmmaker alive," LaBeouf said. "It's wild. His maturation has softened him now, but at least in the movies that are in that box set, you not only [get] entertainment, but you also get outrageous information. There's an education process. How many directors do you know have college courses based on them in film schools? It says something about him."

In comparing the very recognizable and iconic Gordon Gekko (played by Michael Douglas) to the memorable main characters in "Transformers" and "Indiana Jones," LaBeouf said Gekko trumps Indy and Max.

"He's got more bite, he's more dangerous, he's the most dangerous of the three," LaBeouf said. "Also the most interesting, I think. There's something in how tangible and visceral it is," he explained of the topical subject matter within "Wall Street." "Whereas the other films are fantasy films where the suspension of disbelief is necessary for you to get into the movie. This isn't that. It's a very tangible world, and you're living in the midst of the twilight of American economic dominance, and it's real and it's the topic of every conversation. Unemployment really is hovering at 10 percent, we really are in trouble. When it's real, there's more to chew on — not just for the actors, but also easier to get the audience in."

Are you excited to see "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps"? Do you agree with LaBeouf's statement that Gordon Gekko is more memorable/dangerous than Indiana Jones? Tell us in the comments!

Mos Def Signs With Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Music

Seasoned Brooklyn MC and 'Lord, Lord, Lord' collaborator confirms he's joining Yeezy's label in latest issue of XXL.
By Vanessa Denis

Kanye West has expanded his roster again, and like the most recent addition to his G.O.O.D. Music label, Pusha T, the new signing is another familiar face: seasoned hip-hop favorite Mos Def.

The Brooklyn MC and West talk about the deal and break down their musical relationship in the October issue of XXL, which comes out on Tuesday and features a Kanye cover story. And Mos Def makes an appearance on West's G.O.O.D. Friday single "Lord, Lord, Lord," along with Swizz Beatz, Raekwon and singer Charlie Wilson. Mos' decision to join G.O.O.D. Music follows the release of his last album, The Ecstatic, on indie label Downtown Records in 2009.

The rapper/actor and Kanye first collaborated on the Chicago MC's College Dropout, for "Two Words," and then again on "Drunk and Hot Girls" from Graduation. On "Lord, Lord, Lord," Mos Def opens the slow-moving track.

"Cool ruler standing still, sweatin' through the shade," Mos says. "He knew those lights only grew bright to fade/ Dead-wrong pageantry, lottery and games/ Sleight of hand provided by extravagant and fake."

With the signing of Mos Def, West continues his movement, pulling in MCs — often with a devoted following outside the mainstream — who come ready to break down creative barriers. Back in July, Pusha wouldn't confirm or deny that he'd signed with G.O.O.D: "I mean, you know. I been to Hawaii. Hawaii is a nice place. Good music is made down there, ya know. So, yeah, I was there. I can't say too much about that."

Of course, that's no longer a mystery. Pusha confirmed to MTV News at this year's VMAs that he was onboard with Kanye. The only question remaining is who else will be popping up on the bubbling label.

What do you think of Kanye bringing Mos Def into his G.O.O.D. Music fold? Tell us in the comments!

There's no sticking to your diet when going to Babbo because 1) It's hard to get a reservation, and, 2) If you're going to eat pasta, this is the place to do so. Okay, so on to our meals...

I ordered an heirloom tomato and burrata salad for my appetizer, and the sweet potato ravioli, or I should say, the "Sweet Potato 'Lune' with Sage and Amaretti," for my meal. It was AMAZING. It was light and delicate, not too buttery, heavy or overly sweet. It will be definitely be added to my list of my most memorable NYC meals (a list which needs a serious update.)

Mark ordered the "Black Spaghetti with Rock Shrimp, Spicy Salami Calabrese and Green Chiles" and he thoroughly enjoyed it.

Liz (a friend of Mark and David's, and now me too!) ordered the "Goat Cheese Tortelloni with Dried Orange and Wild Fennel Pollen"—a dish I almost ordered, but didn't. I did try hers, however, but I liked mine better.

We also ordered the “Brasato al Barolo” (Braised Beef with Porcini Mushrooms) for the table. I had a bite and it was fine. Not amazing, just fine.

(PS - I didn't take pics of our meals; I found the above photos on the internet.)

For dessert I had the blueberry polenta with sweet corn gelato. I think it was a special for August because I can't find it on the menu, and also, the August calendar says, "Try Sweet Corn Gelato at Babbo this month!" It was soooooo delicious... another addition for my most memorable NYC meals list. Think of corn bread and ice cream mixed up. It was perfectly sweet and gritty but well-blended. I think it had cornmeal in it as opposed to ungrounded kernels from the cob. I need to see if the recipe is in The Babbo Cookbook.

Liz ordered the "Chocolate Hazelnut Cake with Orange Sauce and Hazelnut Gelato", but I thought mine was better, too.

Since I mentioned sticking to my diet, I'm going to update you on that in a little bit (I've lost 30 pounds!), but a funny thing I've noticed lately is that I've lost my taste for chocolate. Isn't that weird? I've always been a chocolate freak but I find it too rich and overpowering nowadays. I prefer more delicate flavors now... vanilla and/or caramel dishes to things like brownies.

Anyway, go to Babbo, it's totally worth it. Remember to make reservations way ahead of time or you won't get in.

Justin Bieber Is 'Funny,' 'Outgoing,' Rumored Girlfriend Says

'He's not fake at all,' Jasmine Villegas, the girl Bieber was caught kissing, says.

While it has yet to be confirmed whether Justin Bieber and his "Baby" co-star and current My World tour opener Jasmine Villegas are dating, she opened up about the pop star in a new interview. She never mentioned their current romantic status, but she did note that Bieber is as real as it gets.

"Well, let's see, [what's] something that I would know about Justin ... He's just an outgoing person. He's funny," she told Bop and Tiger Beat in an interview posted online. "He's just so random, but I think everybody would know that.

"There's not much that I would know that people don't know because Justin is just 100 percent [real] with his fans and his friends and he gives everybody his full personality," she dished. "So that's a really good thing about him. He's not fake at all. He's just like, 'I'm Justin. Here's me.' "

Rumors of a romance between Villegas and Bieber were fueled when the two were recently caught kissing in the backseat of a car. Both have denied that anything is going on, with Bieber insisting he's single.

"I mean, girlfriends are trouble at this age," he said. "Girls are fun to hang out with but, like, having that one steady girl ... we're constantly traveling and one girl's not gonna really [work]. You can't really have one girl. I don't really have any crushes at the moment. ... Right now, the best thing is [that we're] just teenagers having fun doing what we love. We're just staying ourselves and remaining humble."

'Waiting For Superman' Cheat Sheet: Everything You Need To Know

We present the facts about this incisive education-themed documentary from Oscar winner Davis Guggenheim so you don't have to cram.
By Kara Warner

After his last filmmaking effort, "An Inconvenient Truth," took the Oscar for Best Documentary, director Davis Guggenheim had the bar set rather high for his future projects. He seems to have met the challenge as his latest work, "Waiting for Superman," has been generating awards-show buzz and serious acclaim since it debuted at the Sundance Film Festival early this year. ("Superman" won the fest's Documentary Audience Award.)

MTV News has been following the poignant film, from its start at Sundance to the debut of the first trailer, and even logged some conversation time with Guggenheim. The arresting documentary finally arrived in theaters on Friday (September 24), and we've gathered all the facts you need to know.

First of all, what's all the fuss about? The film takes a long, hard look at the state of America's public school system, following five students in various U.S. cities who are struggling to get a quality education. It also features commentary from several leaders in the education field: philanthropist Bill Gates; Geoffrey Canada, president and CEO of the Harlem Children's Zone in Harlem, New York; and Michelle Rhee, chancellor of the Washington, D.C., public schools.

When the film traveled to Park City, Utah, in January 2010 for Sundance, it was quickly snatched up by Paramount Vantage, becoming the festival's first official sale, days before it even premiered there. "Superman" went on to win the Documentary Audience Award.

Four months later we got our eyes on the first trailer, and three months after that, MTV partnered with the Get Schooled campaign to host a screening of the film for members of various Chicago youth groups

Shortly thereafter, as part of our Fall Movie Preview, we had an insightful chat with Guggenheim about education reform, the reasons MTV viewers should care about their neighborhood schools and what the average person can do to sustain the conversation he hopes to start with this film. Leading up to the film's release, Guggenheim took the film and its important message — joined by Bill Gates and chancellor Rhee of the Washington, D.C., school district — to "The Oprah Winfrey Show."

This week, MTV News hit up the Los Angeles premiere of "Waiting for Superman" on the famed Paramount lot. There, Guggenheim celebrated with VIPs like "Curb Your Enthusiasm" star Cheryl Hines and L.A. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.

"This movie has got to be a catalyst for real change," Villaraigosa said. "It's got to do for education what 'An Inconvenient Truth' did for climate change and the struggle to educate people about global warming. This is the pre-eminent challenge facing America. It is the civil-rights issue of our time. When you look at the kids in urban schools, the level with which they're dropping out and the abysmal success rate of our urban public schools."

On the lighter side of things, but still in the spirit of "Superman," we made a list of our favorite fictional schools over at the MTV Movies Blog, where Hogwarts and "Back to the Future" 's Hill Valley earned nods.

What's your opinion on the education issues raised by "Waiting for Superman"? We want to hear what you think in the comments!

Talking To The IRS About A Tax Relief Program

If you are a little bit concerned that the IRS is going to step in and put a tax lien on your home, possessions, and wages, then you will certainly need to do some research and find out about the facts that will help you to prevent this from occurring. One thing that you could do would be to see if you qualify for the tax relief program, and you will certainly need to conduct some research into this to see if it is viable for you.

Tax debt relief is essentially a tax settlement that is awarded to a taxpayer who has tax delinquents. While it may sound simple, the process of actually getting one really isn\'t. The RS will certainly not simply take your word as proof when you are in a position where you are unable to pay your taxes, and as such you will need to provide far more sufficient proof in order to take advantage of this program and process.

When any taxpayer is faced with a difficult financial situation paying taxes is certainly not the priority. In most cases they will have to cover their mortgage, credit card bills, insurance, and all sorts of other costs first, and therefore paying their taxes can fall by the wayside. It is at this point that you should always be considering your taxes and looking ahead, and therefore when your taxes are of a lower priority you should get immediate advice from the IRS.

If you have this difficult situation and you are in a position where you have a lot of the natural obligations to meet ahead of your taxes, then it is certainly best to approach the IRS immediately and discussed the situation with them. In most cases, as long as you do this early enough, the IRS will be willing to work with you and therefore they will be able to provide you with lots of different options in helping you to get some sort of tax relief.

One possible option might simply be that you will be able to pay tax in a staggered amount, and therefore you will not be burdened with a massive bill. This option will allow any taxpayer to allocate an affordable amount each month and therefore the tax owings that they have can be paid off over the course of six months or a year.

Another possible option would simply be coming to a compromise with the IRS. Perhaps they could offer you three months to sort out your personal financial situation, and then you will have to meet your tax obligations after that.

T-Mobile Asserts Right to Censor Text Messages in Federal Lawsuit

cell phone keypadT-Mobile's decision to block specific messages sent across its network has now resulted in a federal lawsuit that may have far-reaching implications for wireless providers seeking to exercise more control over their platforms.

As Wired reports, the wireless service is being sued by EZ Texting, a company that offers short code text messaging services to third-party clients. Companies who sign up for the service are given their own unique word, which customers can text to receive more information. If a church, for example, signs up for the service, it could send out information to all T-Mobile customers who text the word 'CHURCH' to the number 313131. After a medical marijuana dispensary in California recently signed up for the service, however, T-Mobile abruptly suspended transmission of EZ Texting's messages, claiming that it reserves the right to approve the service's list of clients beforehand.

'Catfish' Trio Discuss Controversial Documentary's Aftermath

'We just wanted to start a conversation with this film,' filmmaker Henry Joost tells MTV News.
By Kara Warner

Nev Schulman

Audiences are still talking about "Catfish," the 2010 Sundance darling and one of the year's most heavily hyped documentaries. Now that the film has opened in select theaters across the country, more and more people are joining in on the "Is it real?" debate, as well as looking into the nuts and bolts of how the film came to be.

In brief, the documentary revolves around NYC-based photographer Nev Schulman and the series of curious events that occur when he begins an online friendship with a precocious 8-year-old artist from a small town in Michigan and a romantic relationship with her older sister.

When MTV News caught up with filmmakers Ariel Schulman and Henry Joost, along with Nev, we asked them — without spoiling anything — how the film's supporting characters are doing back in Michigan.

"Things in Michigan are good," Joost said. "We still have friends there, and they are becoming involved in the marketing of the film in a cool way, designing posters. We're pretty excited about that." Joost also said those friends were part of a small art show tied to the film's New York premiere.

Regarding the strong reactions both audiences and critics have had to the film, Joost said there is a common theme.

"I'd say maybe not the most common reaction, but a very common reaction is 'Wow. Now let me tell you what happened to me; let me tell you what happened to my friend or my cousin or my mom,' " he said. "It's incredible how many stories there are like this out there, and I think the film is kind of an open door to tell those stories now, that are sometimes embarrassing but often lead to good things."

Joost added that their goal in making the film was to just get people talking.

"We just wanted to start a conversation with this film and just continue the conversation we've been having in the editing room for two years," he said.

What do you think of the buzz surrounding "Catfish"? Did the film make you rethink your approach to social networking or online relationships at all? Let us know in the comments!

Britney Spears On Working With Lady Gaga: 'Anything's Possible'

Singer poses on manga-inspired Pop cover.

From schoolgirl to toxic temptress, Britney Spears has played many characters throughout the years. But the singer took a very different approach for her photo spread in the upcoming issue of the U.K.'s Pop magazine by channeling her inner manga character. In the issue, the pop princess dished about the possibilities of a Lady Gaga collaboration and working with Japanese artist Takashi Murakami for the anime-inspired cover.

Despite Gaga overthrowing Spears as the most-followed celebrity on Twitter, the singer had no hard feelings toward pop's newest sensation. "I'm a big fan of hers," she said when asked about working with Gaga. "Anything's possible!"

A collaboration between the pop stars doesn't seem out of the question, as Gaga's mega-hit "Telephone" duet with Beyoncé was originally offered to Spears.

Donning a white wedding dress and a veil with matching gloves, Spears innocently poses in a field of flowers on the cover. In another photo, the singer trades the dress for a leg-baring getup accessorized with a red backpack.

Spears' manga-style shoot was shot by Todd Cole with art direction from Takashi Murakami, who is often referred to as the "Andy Warhol of Japan." While the spread strays from the singer's typical styling, the pop star enjoyed working with the artist. "I loved working with Takashi," she said. "I especially liked how he took high-end fashion and incorporated it with Japanese manga."

The singer's tour to Japan was what originally piqued her interest in Japanese culture. "We looked at a lot of characters and artwork before we shot, so I could get a feel for what he was looking for," she explained. "I was in Japan on my past promo tour, and I loved it."

Editor in Chief Dasha Zhukova spoke to Style.com about the singer's Japanese treatment: "She's feminine, sassy, strong-willed, determined: all the things a great Pop icon should be. Couple that with some Japanese swimsuits and a Rodarte wedding gown, and I think she is pretty much Pop personified!"

Spears couldn't wait to share her excitement for her photo shoot with fans. The pop star took to Twitter, saying, "I just saw the photos for the first time and they are beautiful. Comes out Sept. 1st. Thanks @TakashiPom -- Britney."

Aside from gracing the cover of Pop magazine, the singer has already filmed a cameo for her "Glee" tribute episode and is working on completing the follow-up to 2008's Circus.

What do you think of Britney's manga-inspired photo shoot? Would you like to hear a Britney and Gaga collabo? Share your thoughts below!

Lady Gaga's Album Is Too 'Precious' To Discuss, Producer Says

RedOne says the upcoming Born This Way is 'too good to talk about.'
By Jocelyn Vena

Photo: MTV News

Why will Lady Gaga's forthcoming Born This Way album "piss people off"?

Gaga's main man, producer and songwriter RedOne, thinks it might be because the album is all about the artist's liberation. "I think it's more of her freedom album. It's like freedom this album ... it's her album!" he told MTV News.

But trying to squeeze any more details out of the "Bad Romance" producer proved difficult. He remained tight-lipped about details, mostly because he feels the album, which Gaga has noted will veer toward bitter and political, isn't ready for everyday talk just yet.

"To be honest with you, I think that this album that she's making is too precious to talk about. When it comes out you'll hear and you'll make your choice," he said. "I think you're gonna love it. But I think it's too precious for me to talk about it. It's crazy."

RedOne said that as far as he knows there will be no Beyoncé-type collaborations on Born This Way. But he reiterated that he's always stepping up his game with each album.

"I said with everything I do I want to shock people. Honestly, it's like whatever I do, I always want to shock people sonically, lyrically with the writer, anything that's gonna get the reaction," he said. "And so when it comes to her album, I mean honestly, I really think it's too precious, it's too good to talk about. I don't want to talk about it at all. I just want to save it. I'll let her talk about it. It's her. It's her presenting Gaga. I'm the producer, but she's the artist.

"Whatever happens later is going to happen," he said about which of his tracks might make the final cut. "I can't say I'm doing this or I'm doing that. It's a surprise. I want to leave it like that."
